Irish Terrier

I start by stripping the really dead hair that has "blown" and died off from the back, don't take much off the legs, show angulation in the rear, keep the tail tight, very short eyebrows, pluck eyelashes, clip around underside of ears, either strip or clip top of ears, and strip skull and cheeks very tight. I use only a terrier palm brush, never a slicker, strip out sides of neck and shoulders tighter than body.

Actually I have only done one that I borrowed from a show breeder and took to a Terrier Clinic with Pam Lauritzen. Learned alot and am hoping to use her in July to certify for the Long legged terrier. I only handstripped, think it would be a pity to use clippers on the body work because stripping is not so hard in that area, but will probably use thinning shears and clippers in tough areas like the rear cowlicks and the neck cowlicks. Hope some of this helps.
