Well, following the tips provided by our wonderful resident colorist here, we decided to have some fun before Easter. We colored poodles, lots and lots of poodles (and some maltese too). There was so much commotion in our little town every time a customer would leave, the paper showed up! So, here we are with some colorful pooches... made the front page! And yup, thats the back of my head The colors on the actual dogs were much, MUCH brighter than they showed up in the paper. Lol, we still have a lavender poodle wandering around the shop. And the owners of Isaac, the full faced pink poodle in the pic, want him that color ALL the time. Any suggestions for a more permanent color?

Color Jam 2 or Crazy colours(crazy colors is thicker and gives better results but I dont know if its avalible in the US) I get them at Sallys, they are semi-perminant, I did my LH-GSD's tail last week and it is still oviosly blue. I notice its fading faster than they say (I tested it in my own hair w/ pink streaks and there gone now) ive been leaving the dye on 20 minutes (As it says) but think may get better/brighter results with a longer sit time. somebody said they leave it on 40 minutes this is Murphy with tail, ends of ears & Topknot done (I was mixing colors and there was more Colorjam on one side wich dident set the color as well as th Crazy colors on the other side)

Daryl's latest color efforts: Dazzle, cream standard poodle, has a 3-D heart, hot pink, on her left hip. A BIG pink bow on her right ear balances this out nicely. Tango, her littermate, has a nice orange pumpkin, complete with green stem and a cute curly tendril on his right side. He sports a jack 'o lantern bandana to round out his new look... they look GREAT, and the work was easy. Daryl |

Tsmmes, I tried to email you, but it would not go through for some reason. My name is Veronica, and I am from the Minneapolis area. I will be competing in Div. A both classes and in creative. I am doing a Toy poo in the poodle class, a standard in the misc. class and a standard in creative. Hope to see you there... |

Hey tsmmes, thanks for offering up your tub. We are coming in Fri afternoon sometime (leaving here about 9 am and taking it easy ) and yes, we are staying at the hotel. I hesitate to set a meeting time and place as I am not sure exactly when and where to meet. Maybe you could e-mail me and give me a cell # or I could send you mine back and we could meet up that way. I have to meet with Lynelle right away to get my pick of a toy poodle, otherwise I am free until (Gulp) Saturday afternoon (Getting a little nervous now ). My email is trfrosch@msn.com Look forward to hearing from you. |

Just spent the weekend at our annual Iowa State Professional Dog Groomers Association Convention. This is only the second show I have attended in my short 2 year career. I must admit to being star-struck!! Vero DiSylva came to little ole Des Moines Iowa!! I got to meet Winterroo.. my first in person meeting with anyone from the boards. That was great. She was competing all weekend so we didn't get alot of time to visit and get to know each other. Let me tell you guys.. that girl can groom!! The all-breed class had 7 entries.. 4 of them being in the top 10 points standing on the groom team usa. (DiSylva, Suesan Watson, Alicia Bismore and Lisa Leady) Drumroll please... Winterroo took 3rd place! She took 2nd in Creative. Her entry in Creative really blew everyone away and was the talk of a huge wedding party down the hall. The bride wasn't too happy her guests kept sneaking off to come down the hall and see this blue poodle. Anyway, Winterroo said it was ok to post pics so here are her entries.
her creative entry was Sully, from monsters, inc with mike the eyeball guy on his side
Congrats Veronica..and it was so fun to meet you. Sharon |

Pixiedust, no, I wasn't Boo, I should have been tho...Oh well, I didn't have time to come up with that costume as well, the Sully and Mike thing was kind of last minute...I loved the way she turned out. I am going to scissor her up tightly and bring her to my sons school and my nieces girl scout meeting on Friday for Halloween! She is going to go trick or treating with us-my son has a really cool big fluffy Sully costume as well, I thought that would be a hoot! Wattadog, that butterfly is really cool! |

Ok girls and guys, I am riding a horse in the USF Gator parade on Nov 12. I would like to have a stencil of the Gator logo on the hindquarters of my palomino. Any ideas on how to go about that. Oops, I am in Florida, maybe I will get arrested for breaking the law. I still want to do it though. |

Plastic ice-cream lids are great for making stencils -cut the edge off them, as that allows total flex in the material. I put food coloring and vinegar in a small spray bottle and spray away to your hearts content. Don't go overboard with the spray as it will run if you put too much on. |

Hey everyone... i have a show coming up next weekend and want to do my mom's little poodle. I will have a spot at the show, to try and promote my business and want something that will attract some attention. Have to use dyes/coloring that won't last for long (mom would have a fit). I'm looking for ideas of something cute to do with her (she' in a modified continental maybe an inch 1/2 thru the tophalf) actually have full legs on the back... I know someone out there has to have something cute i can do (and simple - mom is in the hospital, which is why i have the dog, but also isn't leaving me a lot of time to work on her). |

}I think what you people did to those poor dogs was horrible. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. What if someone tied you down and did that to your hair. I don't think you would like it. You should be put in jail for that. |

Erin, the dogs are not hating this. If they did we wouldn't be able to do it. It is NOT cruelty, it is creative grooming using safe products and the dogs LOVE the attention!!! Put in jail? Gimme a break! Then all beauticians should be put in jail for dying our hair and perming it and curling it. Trust me we go through more torture than the dogs do! My dogs are colored and they still love me and I don't have to hog tie them to do it. My dogs jump onto the table for me. They LOVE it! They LOVE the grooming and the attention! If you don't like it then don't do it to your dog. Go to a grooming show with creative grooming and then tell me how the dogs hate it. BTW we don't TIE down dogs. Those are grooming loops and it's just to help keep them safely restrained so they don't jump off and get hurt. We don't leave them unattended either. |

Please don't be absurd. The dogs are not even tied down. Besides when I was out today I saw a girl with a pink mohawk. She didn't look traumatized and I am quite sure her hairdresser isn't in jail. |

A certain "Pain 'en' The A$$" animal rights lunatic group run by a certain Ignorant NewJERK is infiltrating just about every animal-related message board on the 'net. Their Trolls are everywhere! One got banned from the bucking bull breeders' message board I'm a member on just the other day; the owner of the board boots them as soon as they start spewing their hateful propaganda, but they keep coming back. The only thing real animal lovers, professionals, and breeders can do is educate those who are willing and ignore the petards.... |

Oh yeah... I'm a major fan of the sport of bull riding, primarily the Professional Bull Riders, but if there's no PBR, a PRCA Rodeo or Extreme Bulls or Championship Bull Riding (Tuff Hedeman's organization) will do! I know the stats on most of the top PBR riders as well as the best bulls, and I joined the Breeders' Connection board to learn more about how the bulls are bred, selected, and trained (by "trained" I mean it in the personal trainer--cardio and strength--sense). |

Could be a kid, but most likely just a typical member of that particular organization that we're not allowed to mention. If he/she is "educated" by NewJerk's propaganda, they are already completely brainwashed, and "know" everything they think they need to. |
