Adorable trims and a very cute shih tzu. I've got a couple that would look cute in those trims, but they wouldn't fly with the owners. Not with people who complain because hair on the feet brings in leaves, snow, whatever. But will print out your pics to show as examples. One never knows. It would be a nice change from the #7 shave downs. |

I agree Loves!I Like it when it is something different! To be honest..under paws is shaved right down so she doesnt track anything in. Plus alot of my clients now. Get one look at my dogs and they want something like it or something different then the regular shave them down! Most owners dont know if they will like it..untill they see it!Or want a low maintence cut, Which always makes me laugh..Because these are shih-tzu owners! Go Figure!!! Most of the cuts I give my dogs are very easy to maintain and once the client hears that they are all for it! Both of these trim need Little brushing on the legs and ears and they stay mat free! Maybe if you tell them that they be willing to try it!? |

Great stuff! How do you create such a wonderful straight line affect where the ear joins the head without making the ears appear to jump out of the head like pigtails?

paws4contact,right where the ear and skull meet Cut a straight line on a angle from front of ear towards back of head, length of hair on the ears will make it lay flatter.I also hold down the ear with my hand to help with making a line, I self taught myself with this...so it's hard for me to explain it. I just do it. Sorry I couldn't explain better. |

Dawg, This is my reason for grooming
I learned how to groom my own dog because I couldn't afford to bring him to the groomers every 4 weeks, When my hubby would take him out for walks or just to play, People would ask where he took him to be groomed...My Husband some how talked me into doing friends and family dogs..etc.Took a home study course...Now I'm called groomer! Funny how things happen sometime!? Never thought I'd be a Groomer and I love doin it too!! So yes your right it is great advertising |

I became a Groomer the same way..I love it too..Hubby and kids all said "Mom you can do that" So I did.At 50 went to another groomer and got the training and here I am ....grooming..There is a lot of room for improvement but thats the whole idea ..learning as we go.Best job I ever loved to have....Dgroomer |

Thanks Dgroomer, It's good to know I'm not the only one who got started this way! I was so scared at first..Wondering what am I getting myself into!? But once I got past that fear WOW how much fun this is, The best part is when the owners come to pick up there dogs and the smiles from ear to ear...Makes me feel so Good inside, Knowing they are happy with it! I've made alot of new friends dog and human, lol When they call for appointments it's like a friend is calling! When we discuss what we are to do with the dog they always end it with..."I trust you, do what you think is best"! WOW to think they totally trust me with there dogs, And it all started because I couldn't afford to groom my own dogs! I hope I dont sound full of myself, It's just I love grooming! I'm just amazed how I never tried to be one and how it just happened! I guess it is true when you hear " Everyone has a hidden talent" Glad I'm a dog owner! Because I may have never found my talent! LOL |
